It is that time of year for many wondrous things like; Christmas cookies, gift giving, family gatherings, holiday scents, lights, tinsel, and other holiday traditions. But not all are fortunate to enjoy this joyous time of year – many are alone without loved ones to celebrate with, or do not have the luxury of indulging in the festivities. Holiday Blues, it is real and it is affecting many thousands of people each year. What to do if this happens to you?


The first thing to do when suffering from the Holiday Blues is the most difficult thing to do – you can count your blessings. Thank the Lord for waking up because each day there is a possibility for a life changing blessing or miracle. It is up to you whether or not to accept the miracles and blessings being offered. Depression is a heavy darkness that can easily consume us – do not give in to the darkness of depression and the holiday blues. Remind yourself of uplifting moments or other small encouragements and redirect yourself forward to better things.


Here are a few things that you can do to help get yourself out of the Holiday Blues & Depression

  • Take a Deep Cleansing Bath to Remove Negative Energies and Spirits – you can use bath salts, oils, and herbs to create your own spiritual bath. Try using elements such as Lavender, Hyssop, Sage, Chamomile, Cedar, and other relaxing and soothing titles.
  • Write down the aspects of your life that you wish to cleanse – Focus on items that contribute to negativity and keep you stuck. Meditate on the list of negatives you just created. Envision the negativity in your life dissolving, turning to dust and blowing away in the wind.
  • Light a White Candle and Say a Prayer for Healing and Cleansing – take your list of negative things you wish to remove from your life and burn it in the flame while chanting the following “I release all that is negative in my life. I release its power over me. I reclaim the power of my spirit.”
  • Sip Tea – Drink Senna Leaf Tea or Hyssop Tea for a body cleansing, Drink Chamomile or Lavender Tea to calm the nerves and for relaxation, Drink Spearmint or Citrus Blend Teas for Pep and Energy. Drinking these herbal teas is the most natural and effective way of giving yourself a mood lift or adjustment.

Do not feel pressured by the holidays, do not worry about gift giving or spending money, focus on yourself. Your happiness and well being is the ultimate gift to the universe. Your positive energies are contagious and they will affect others. 2015 is around the corner, it is a perfect time to turn your life, luck, and perspective around! Be the change you wish to see – reject all things negative.
